Yeah I do want it LOL. But I plan on keeping the 700R4 and the 2.8 stuff so I would have no need for the tranny and the wiring.

actually, since the wiring & ecm are included, and the tranny, it would make the perfect swap. everything needed is included. I would have done this w/the engine I got, but the engine harness was cut @ the firewall & no ecm was included, so I kept all the 2.8 stuff. currently this price is better than just some engine only around here.

But I would still have to re wire everything right?

yup just re-wire the engine. all sensors needed will be on the engine already, just, however I haven't had to do this yet, remove stock ecm & harness & just route the new harness to the new ecm. This will be a detailed job, but you will get DIS, a better ignition, a newer, more powerful engine, and a candadite for the 3.4 supercharger kit that's in the works ;)

over @ www.thirdgen.org , the V6 section, a guy named Dale is doing this swap in an S-10. Ask him these questions as he is doing the "full swap". Also ask Karl, aka KED85, as he is the godfather on the 2.8-3.4 swap. TomP is pretty knowledgeable too.

Ahh. . .you can get a 5.0 or 5.7L cheaper than that. http://www.thirdgenresource.com and they're like $500-$700, at least the last time I checked they were.

but do you also get a mathching tranny with it? also emmissions to deal with. & Idon't want to hear any " I don't need to worry about it inmy state". What if you move or work at a place that requires it?

Most tranny's match, unless you've switched 'em out. A friend of mine has both an '89 5.0L RS and a '91 5.7L RS (engine swap) with 700R4 tranny's, which--if I'm not mistaken (and I very well could be)--came stock on third gen f-bodies. I was wanting to switch to a 5.0L, but someone said that I'd have to switch out the transmissions, but my friend said "Why? I've got a 700R4 linked to a 5.0L."

bellhousing bolt patterns are diferent between the 60* V6 & the 8cyl cars. That's what makes the swap more costly. also, you need to swap out stock tachs (if you have one) unless you can work the electronics to make read correctly.
