  • Horsepower Loss?

Can someone give me an estimate on about how much horsepower I am currently running compaired to a new engine (Same specs).

I have the 3.1L V6 with 131,000 miles on it. No oil leaks nor does it burn oil that I can tell. It seems to run ok, but I've been told my numerious people that it just isn't cutting the power that it should.

    Thanks,

140HP to 150HP with your mods, it is a very heavy car to have such a small engine. Your friends are misstake the fact that there is a small v6 under the hood and only thinking about it being a camaro. you are not going to get much out of these v6's untill they switched to the 3.8L

i have the same engine and it runs stock 140hp.
id estimate that u have more around 160 hp wit the intake, exhaust, and spark plugz and wires.
im sure you havent lost much hp really from wear and tear, jus do a regular tuneup and you should b fine

how about someone w/a 4.3 running them? I have them along w/Bosch wires in my 95 Blazer. Didn't really notice any more hp, but did gat a very noticable increase in mpg on my 4.5 hr road trips to K-Town.

It might be making factory hp considering age & milage. Which, unfortunately, isn't really that much @ the rear wheels.

see sig  Ill do it with less than 2k including the price of the motor, my car also weighs about 3,200, if you want to make that kind of comment I will be happy to compare the 3.8 to the Buick turbo V-6....... a lot more out of that then the 3.8. I do agree that you wont get much out of the 3.1 but I have seen quite a few people get over 300rwhp on a 3.4
