I keep getting an EGR failure code during highway cruising so I'm about ready to just rip the whole thing out and wire a resistor in there to fool the computer. Has anyone done this recently and can help me with instructions, pictures, etc? Also is there a kit with the block off plates? tia

It's in a 1991 Firebird so I'm not sure. I think it is but I'll have to check. Good news, the bird had zero oil pressure after it warmed up and was smoking from oil leaking on the exhaust manifold. Bad oil pressure sending unit was leaking and causing the low reading.
