The 'O' Ring that prevents oil from spashing out of where the distributor and the engine meet keeps busting on me. This will be the third time I have replaced it in two years.
Can someone shed some light as to why it would keep busting? I push my car pretty hard, but I dont think this could cause it?
inferior o-ring material? When you replace this one, get a distributer gasket form like, an 81 or so chevy small block. befoer you drop in the distributor, goop up this gasket & put in place, the install the distributor. This will help reduce the chances of the oil leak there.

I had mine leak on me. When I replaced the o-ring it still leaked so I put silicone on it and that took care of it, unfortunatly you can't adjust your ignition timing after this without putting more on. The new o-ring I put on when I rebuilt the engine seems to be doing fine on its own though, it's a Fel-Pro.
I am going to replace the distributor this time around. The last time I had it out, it looked a bit crusty, and what the hell, I'll get an appropriate o-ring/gasket replacement with it.
What brand/model of distributor should I look at buying? I heard its pointless to get an aftermarket distributor without having a complete digital ignition system?
