  • Too Much HP????

ok, here goes, a freind chopped his camaro in half two years ago and when he finaly gave in to me why he did it, he said it had Way to much Horse Power, he said there was so much the engine wouldnt start, it was a 3.8 sitting in his maro, and he clammed it never started cause he modded it way to much and the Hp won't let it turn over, even on a warm day, and let me tell you, this thing ran 7.2 the last time we took it to English town so i kind of beleive him, but still unsure if this is even possable ... anyone?

He had a crap starter on it. An engine not running has zero horse power. Now, if the compression ratio is too high, a regular starter woont do shiz for it. Before I go on, did he usse a high torque starter on it?

Yes, a stock starter would have to be replaced if the compression ratio was increased (especially if it ran that fast). Beefing up the electrical system would also be neccessary since a high output starter would require more voltage. Like 3.4 said, a non-running motor creates no horsepower. Are you sure you didn't break something?
