• Disappearing coolant

It's tickin' me off... Every time I pop the hood to look at something, I realize my coolant overflor container's empty. I've been putting new 50/50 mix in, only to find it disappear again. I was told that if I was burning it I'd smell maple syrup and see white puffs in my exhaust. Neither of these have I noticed. It wouldn't be leaking into the oil, with as much as I've replaced (about a full coolant container [two if you count the water that goes with it]) the engine would have crapped out by now due to diluted oil. Any help?

Last trip to the tracks someone told me to pop the radiator cap and turn the engine over... If I see bubbles then it's a head gasket. Another one was pull the plugs after hand cranking the engine. If they're wet, there's a leak in the head gasket.

Any other tips like this are much appreciated.

drain erl & check. Also inspect tranny fluid if auto, possibilty it could leak there. I take it car hasn't bee overheating any. If head gashet is blown, it might be burning off water slow nough not to have the Stay Puff marshmallow man coming out of the tail pipe.

p.s., I check your profile, it looks like my bird is older than you are

3.4, you're car's older than me too but it could still beat my little birdie. 91CamaroRS, have you tried any of that radiator leak dectector stuff? You put it in the radiator, run for a while, pull out a black light and go over where it could be leaking. It shows up bright bright green, should be able to get it at any auto parts store for a few bucks.

No I have not, and it's now on the list of things to check if everything else doesn't work
