Okay, I've posted this once before, but never really got a straight answer. My '92 'Bird's passenger-side window is havin' trouble. In cool weather (fall and winter) it'll go up and down just fine, but in warmer weather (end of spring, into summer) it'll go down, stop, down, stop, etc., (same way goin' up) and I have to wait like maybe 30 sec. to be able to roll it down again, and at that, it only goes a tiny bit up or down. The window will still go up and down, and it's been doin' this for about 2 spring/summers now. I pulled the door panel off and adjusted the channel bolts, but a lady that works for a glass shop told me that her husband's car had almost the exact same problem, but it was his window switch. I've yanked mine out, cleaned the connectors, and put it back in, but no go. So before I spend $13 on a new switch, has ANYONE else had this problem?

Well, see, I got in there and jiggled stuff around in there, and tightened a bunch of stuff up, but what I'm beginning to notice now, is after taking the switch out and playing with it a lot (pushing the button back and forth) I had to place it back in the connector in the car, and I notice a considerable lack in speed compared to before. I thought about taking the connector off of the driver's side button and connecting it to the passenger's side, and seeing for sure if that was the deal, but not only did I notice a difference in color of the connectors, but I noticed a difference in wire color too, so I don't know if that would make a difference, or if the passenger connector has been replaced before. The way I figure it, if I do end up getting the switch and it's not the cure, at least I'll have a new switch.1992 Arctic White Firebird<br />3.1L V6, TB Coolant Bypass, CAI, Turbo Muffler, other little things.<br /><br /> <a href=\"http://www.geocities.com/colinobu/MyHomepage.html\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.geocities.com/colinobu/MyHomepage.html</a> <br /><br />\". . .Finger in the air and the flag still wavin\'. . .\"

Well, after thoroughly exhausting all possibilities, my problem is-in fact-my window motor. After switching connectors under the console, adjusting channel bolts and glass placement, and replacing the fuse, there's nothing else. Anyone ever replaced a motor? :mad:1992 Arctic White Firebird<br />3.1L V6, TB Coolant Bypass, CAI, Turbo Muffler, other little things.<br /><br /> <a href=\"http://www.geocities.com/colinobu/MyHomepage.html\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.geocities.com/colinobu/MyHomepage.html</a> <br /><br />\". . .Finger in the air and the flag still wavin\'. . .\"

Yes, I agree. Give the man the money. I have removed enough of those things to know that installing one would be a pain in the neck. It's a shame I didn't catch this string earlier, I could have sold you one cheap. My hobbie (and funds for my F-bird) is parting out F-bodies.
