  • Problem ...

Yesterday I replaced my rotors, wheel berrings and brake pads on the front. After I reassembled everything and put the tires back on I took it for a quick test drive. I soon noticed that my car was pulling to the left and would pull even harder when I braked. Once I got home and stopped, I noticed that the drivers side brakes were smoking...

I then pulled the tires back off, bleed the brakes and noticed that the caliper on the drivers side didn't look so hot, so I went down and purchased a new one and installed it...

I took it for another test drive, and the problem continues...

    Any ideas?

Did you clean off and lubricate the slide pins? They are the pins/bolts that hold the caliper in place. For some reason, it sounds like your caliper is locking into position while it should be able to move back and forth (side to side). Also, what is the condition of pressure line that supplies the caliper with brake fluid? If you can find a place on that line that has frays, that will cause you problems also.

Are you refering to the two bolts that hold teh caliper on? No, I did not clean or lubricate them.

Yes, those are the ones. Clean off the slides (bolts) and the holes that they go into and try again.
