• 2.8 "H.O." heads?

I know there was a Citation "HO" with higher flowing heads, but I thought they were the same as used on a later 2.8. Anyone know if that's true, and which years the higher flow heads were available on? I asked this forever ago, but I've been gone for at least a year, worrying about another project. We're back to working on the bird, and it's been decided that (at least for now) we're keeping the 2.8. So why not squeeze as much as we can out of it right? Heads seem like a good starting point. Anyone have the link for the site with the upgrades for the 2.8?

FWD? Oh, the citation thing...It's for a the firebird, I just remember the HO citation having "better" heads, lol...Thanks for the link!

So, liking the 3.4 better than the 2.8, now that the swap is over?

So much hate here about the 3800, just think of it as a newer 3.8 Turbo engine minus the turbo

I know, I'm just fudging around w/the whole 3800 bashing 3.4 drama ;) ;)

off topic side note:

Got the radiator pads today. They're in better condition than what's in there now, & there are more of them too

The two larger ones go on top of the radiator and condensor, middle sized ones go under the radiator and the little ones go under the condensor. If that was a question, I hope that helps.

not a question, but then I'm always open to more tech info ;)

Condensor is gone, but like I said, when the radiator was out during the first swap, it only had foam spacers, & half of those got lost/ran away during the process.

Get us some times in the 3.4 & update your sig please

Believe me, I will its killing me!!! I can't stand the wait...
As the car runs right now, I'm pulling 95-100 mph traps on my 'private' 1/4 mile and I still haven't installed the headers, the T-5, 3.73 gears, Gold Racer roller rockers or reprogrammed the computer yet. Luckily, I have ALL of this time to do it before the tracks open up in this area.

Ok....Can anyone tell me if a newer set of 2.8 heads will be a direct bolt on (will the 82 intake bolt up)? The poor car is under about a foot of snow right now, and we haven't started to hunt around junk yards yet, so if it's one of those things you'd know right away by looking, well, no looking yet. Also, what about 3.4 heads? I know it's possible to do that with older fords (like a 289/302) because they are basically the same motor, but I don't know about the v6 chevys. The car came with the 2.8, so we're trying to stay stock looking, but get some extra hp...

The 3.4L heads will bolt on and match up to intakes in the fuel injected 2.8L. If you go hunting, bring the gaskets for the intake with you, to be safe. But better yet, look for the 3400s since they come with aluminum heads that flow better than the cast iron counterparts. Again, to be safe, bring the gaskets.
