Will a rear end from a 1997 camaro fit on a 1984 camaro z28?

it will bolt up yes, but its wider, and you will need to run 4th gen wheels (large spacers are needed in the front to make 4th gen wheels work on a 3rs gen)

From what I here, they will bolt up no problem but the wheels it sticks out I think 2 in. on either side

your right, thats why you need to run 4th gen wheels. teh bolt pattern is the same, but offset os way screwed up.
