Hey Guys I went to the junk yard today and as I was paying for my items I noticed a Trans Am spoiler behind the desk, so I asked how much and he said 15 so I said sure,So I brought it home and of course it didn't even come close to fitting. I have a 1987 Firebird and theres no way this could fit, what years could this be for? And can you make these fit, because it's in awsome condition.

    THere's no way it shouldn't fit. I have an 89 T/A/Formula wing I'm putting on my ride, & it's an 85.
CLICK HERE for pic of it

In the pic, you can see where the holes are from the standard wing mounting points. They are closer together than the aerowing. I'm going to repiant the wing & the hatch black. The aerowing has 2 screws in the back & clips to the hatch w/tabs.*

    * Well, my hatch didn't come w/tabs, & I wasn't able to remove them form the donor car so I'm goig to end up either bonding the wing roots to the hatch or use some uber double sided stick tape. 3M makes some shyt that, instead of the regular stuff in parts store & wallyworld that is rated to hold only 2lbs, the PT1500 is rated for 150 POUNDS

Yes thats excatly what I thought, this spoiler has screws coming out on both sides like it's supposed to connect on the sides by screws and theres no room for screw holes, you know what I mean ? Like where yours is sitting on the glass this looks like it was screwed in somewhere, maybe I could juts take the screws out and stick it stright on the glass??

I'm going to be drilling holes to get the spoiler to bolt on. I don't suggestdrilling the hatch, as the tabs were pressed to the hatch.

So should I just take thoes bolts out that are along the sides and just bolt it stright on to my hatch and baically just let the sides sit there?

if you dont secure the wing roots, they'll just flap around & look shytti. I'll be using either 2 part epoxy or hold 2 tanks together double sided tape.

Hey I have another question for 3.4 slow to go or anyone for that matter, I just took off my gauges and everything and the speedometer moved a lil bit as soon as I took everything off, I didn't touch it I just cleaned everything up and then bolted everything back together, my speedometer is now at about 13 just sittin still, is this going to be a problom or will it adjust, I'd go around and drive but pops is changing the oil and other liquids???

I belive you have the full VSS speedo, it should reset itself once power is applied.

make sure that the trip meter pole thingy is in the same location. They were different in the two that I swapped. I'd go ahead & verify your current gauge is crapped while your at it, just because. Also, the milage can be fixed to match your current one, but it can be a little tricky.
