  • Big Problem ....

    Hello...

I have been noticing a huge increase in my temperature readings during normal driving. The car seemed to be overheating and I couldnt figure it out. Also, I seem to have suffered a big power loss also.

Turns out there is a ton of oil in my radiator!! I have been getting conflicting answers from a blown head gasket to a cracked head.

I would like to know what I am dealing with before I tear it down.

Well, unfortunately the only way to tell is to tear it down. Least case would be a blown head gasket and worse would be cracked head or block.

are you sure it isn't tranny fluid???? Also, any nice big plumes of white smoke billowing out the tail pipe???

You might just need a 3.4 swap to get you back on track ;)

No white smoke that I can see... I'm about had it with this v6 anyhow. I was going to do some searches on a V8 Swap. Do you know of any links with some step by step?

Engine swap in TGO, has a VERY good sticky on putting a Poncho 455. POnchos, the reccomended V8 engine swap in a 3rd gen Pontiac :D

They also have stickies for Ellis Juan & Elle T. Juan swaps too, along w/multiple other sbc swaps.
