  • Question about hatch motor

The little motor on my hatch back that pulls it down, is stuck up in the air and it is latched but it will not pull the hatch down has anyone had troubles with this because it did it to me last year and it fixed itself when it got warm again?

Sounds like a problem with the return switch or the relay. Did you try unplugging/plugging the electrical connectors a couple times? If corrosion builds up on the connections, that's a good way to remove it.

Not yet, I'll try it this weekend when I get back home.

I got my car in the shop and started cleaning. While I was cleaning it the motor pulled the hatch down before I got to it.

Check wire connectors. Either one has some corrosion or its loose.

Well I checked it over spring break and it wasn't corroded. So I sprayed WD-40 in there just to be sure.

NEVER!NEVER!NEVER!NEVER!NEVER! use WD-40 on electrical connectors! It puts a glaze on the connectors that inhibits electrical flow!
