  • Philips/ Sylvania/ Wagner Halogen Lighting

Just a fair warning to those looking for the Firebird replacement headlamps. I was at Autozone shopping to replace my blown passenger side lamp when I came across the Sylvania XV4666; this stands for the XtraVision. The Sylvania CB4666 is the CoolBlue line. Anyways, they had 1 left in stock and it was being phased out for some reason according to the management. I told the salesperson to do a store locator and none were within my drivings time effort to find one.

I debated about the buying the Philips BlueVision H4666 line they had in stock but since I like the extra range of brighter and whiter light, I had to buy the pair to get the job done. Once the purchase was done and almost out the door, the salesperson admitted to me that Philips, Sylvania & Wagner are actually a single company with different prices on the same halogen headlamp. As I write this, my "Philips" cardboard box houses a "Wagner" Halogen headlamp. I will install these lamps and give it a visual test at night to see how they perform. I will miss the XV4666.

Go figure. Maybe they merged? Osram Lighting is the parent company of Sylvania and maybe more.

I don't know about them being phased out we still have them at my store Kragen. Plus most Autozones I've been to the employees don't know their *** from a hole in the ground either. Maybe they're switching suppliers?
