I have a 92 camaro 3.1 auto and the speedometer quit working but all the other gauges are fine. Do i need to buy whole new gauge cluster or is there somthing else that can cause it to stop working?

check the wires to the vss. Also, the vss itself may have crapped out, but I'm not sure if it can be tested, not how much to be replaced. best bet is to call around to parts stores & see if it can be. free is good ;)1978 Formula 461 in progress of being built :rock:

When I had a 88' firebird the wire to the vss broke, the speedo and odometer were broke for 250 odd miles until I had it fixed. It was fun guessing my speed around cops :P.Comment

Well i changed the vss and the speedometer still doesnt work. I checked the wires and they look ok. Any other thoughts on what it might be?Comment

my 89 blazer speedo diddnt work it ended up being the wiring, which involved me taking the whole dash off right before i sold it to fix it.
lol less miles on the car!!
sad thing is i learned to drive on that car, with no speedometer.Comment

Still trying to find oil leak on my Camaro, it’s a tough one. I think it is the oil pressure sender myself. Leaking when raving and going into boost....3 days ago
