Re: 5th gen camaro WILL be built and sold in 09!!!!!!
It's a nice looking "retro" concept, but I am not crazy about that front nose. The lines look too blocklike and doesn't look like enough thought went into it. I wonder how long this retro BS is going to last... like how in the world are they going to evolve the design? It's based on a 69 model, does this mean all subsequent Camaros will be future re-imaginings of old designs starting from 69 up? I just don't get where this retro thing is going to end up.
I wish they would bring back the Firebird too. If your going to revive the muscle cars, why just do it half way. I think GM still has part of its head up its own ***, still not seeing straight.

With all due respect, I don't really care about the Camaro in a standalone f-body world. I always was, and always will be a Firebird/TransAm enthusiast. Owned many of those cars over the years. I am not so desperate for a comeback of the f-body to consider the Camaro a substitute for the lack of a Pontiac Firebird on the assembly line. I am sure there are plenty of other Firebird owners who feel the same way.

i admit the Firebird and TransAm are cool cars, but the Camaro is GM's flagship 2nd to the Corvette. always has and always will. if GM had to decide whether it would bring back the Camaro or Firebird/TransAm, it's would be the Camaro, no contest. this doesn't mean that the Firebird/TransAm won't ever be back, it just might take longer for GM to become ready to do so.

Re: 5th gen camaro WILL be built and sold in 09!!!!!!
I really don't like it. Looks WAYYY too much like a ripoff of the current Mustang's styling, with that ugly as heck boxy look to it. I like my Camaro because of its smooth, curvy lines. This new design is not IMO a modern take on the Camaro: it's a total departure from the smooth clean lines that define the Camaro that we all know and love.
So I give two big thumbs DOWN to the new Camaro - and wish GM's designers would get their big thumbs out of their bums and go back and come up with something that preserves the sexy curvy lines that we all know define the Camaro.
Re: 5th gen camaro WILL be built and sold in 09!!!!!!
You gota be nuts not to love this car. I meen itsa camaro just retro which is nota bad thing. Id personally have a retro car with classic power. sheesh the thing will be pushing 400hp stock.....yet I still wana know what the V6 is guna do. Maybe a 250ish+ hp V6???
Re: 5th gen camaro WILL be built and sold in 09!!!!!!
I've already started saving for it. The only problem will be the charge that dealerships will tag on for "demand"...yeah, that sh*t again! Where the price will almost double because people want it so bad for it's introductory (comeback) year. I may even wait until it's in it's 2nd year until I decide on buying one.
Oh, and it'll d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y be an 8 Cylinder that'll be parked in my garage! There's no second-guessing that.:naughty:

haha i have too! 'cept i'm gonna get a big fat GM discount
realistically tho, i wont save any money, it just means i'm probably gonna spend more getting it fully loaded. I'm gonna see if i can make a pilgrimage to the plant and drive it off the line
Black on black w/ t-tops. I'm gonna drive it straight over to the car audio place by my house too and have it wired up with a kick-a$$ system. I always promised myself when i bought my first new car i'd spare no expense. Debt here i come! :wavey:

Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
