Re: GM doesnt want to compete against itself my a$$
I've heard the term used. Didn't say you used it. I was using the term more as a reference to the supposed superior value of Pontiac.

Re: GM doesnt want to compete against itself my a$$
Yes they are basically the same car. But, I've always thought the Firebird/TA looked superior. Why are we fighting...we should be grateful GM is bringing an F body back....dumb move to ditch it in the first place....kind of like the whole Cok/New Coke/Coke Classic thing...
BTW you didn't see Smokey and the Bandit in a Mustang.....blech.
Re: GM doesnt want to compete against itself my a$$
I'm glad they are bringing back at least one F-body...and the new Camaro is so awesome...but it would have been amazing to see a Firebird alongside it...
heres my raving now that ive read this thread...

i dont know how you can possibly say that all other T/A's are ugly. Yes the 80's were not the best years...but thats how it is for all 80's cars, yes including the Camaro. I do actually like the late 80's T/A's look. What about the Smokey and the Bandit T/A?? that is awesome. Arguing which is better..Firebirds or Camaros will get us nowhere because, for the most part...they are one in the same, just geared towards different audiences.
Re: GM doesnt want to compete against itself my a$$
it doesn't matter, gm doesn't want to make any money, so they bring back the lesser of 2 evils. I myself am not a big maro fan, but do like the new one. I still probably wont ever buy one. At this point, I'm not even sure if I'll stay in the US after I get out of school (I may move over to france)
Car expresses who you are. If you have a ****ty car, you must be a ****ty person;)

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/995979
Re: GM doesnt want to compete against itself my a$$
I love the way my 86 T/A looks and drives, I also like my 94 CAMARO(you people and the comero CRAP) Its not that Pontiac is better..Its that its the same thing just looks different. If anything it would widen the audience to the new GM fast cars, and would sell like crazy
Re: GM doesnt want to compete against itself my a$$
I love 1st gen and 4th gen Camaros. 93-02 the Camaro were great looking cars, and i like different things about both front ends.
98+ is the only bird I would ever consider buying though.
I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but I have never played a racing game that has a T/A and not a Camaro. Infact, I've never played a racing game with a T/A period. A lot of games have the Camaro, but no bird. The Camaro name is more widely known and recognized, which is part of the reason why they are bringing back the maro instead of the bird. Not to say anything against the bird, but they only wanted to bring back one car, it only makes sense to bring back the Camaro over the Firebird
