Most of the LS engines make a slight whining sound at idle. I know my 04 GTO makes a little bit of noise that could be confused with a supercharger if someone didn't know what to really listen for. And when you wind it up closer to redline, it definitely makes a noticeable sound. It was pretty crazy the first time I wound it up after I go it. Now it's hard not to get into just to hear that beaufitul sound an LS1 makes, lol.
