exactly... they are following the crowd. I think GM got scared when more imports like Honda and how toyota started selling strong. Instead of staying on the path they had in mind, they decided to change things and try to match the import market. I just think they lost alot of their buyers because of their change and not because of the other vehicles availabe. Just my opinion. But thats another thread.
Yeah dude I totally agree with you on this. Arent the cobalt engines a 4banger?? I think the name for them is ecotech not sure though

We aren't completely stupid....the new Camaro MUST be priced competitively............
A premium could be as little as $50..................
4 cylinder?
Well........here's an interesting fact: The Federal government passed a LAW...but they have NOT written the rules...........so we know that we have to hit 35mpg as an average by 2020.........BUT --- no one knows the route -- or what the rules are...........
You can BET that EVERYONE in the industry is looking at alternative powertrains..........
Meanwhile........the 4 cylinder isn't in the 'official' plan at this point in time....so CALM DOWN....................
i personally think the Turbo 4banger could be a really good thing for the camaro...we could go out there, whoop up on the V6 stangs, and drive longer before we have to stop for gas! woohoo!...but really, as i teen i deff understand just how hard gas is hitting the wallet nowadays, i think we alll do. And the concept of having a 4banger getting great mileage, and w/ the power they say it will put down, is appealing to me. just my .02 :)
Well back in the mid 90's i had a camaro with a 4cyl engine that thing sucked. The car was made back in 88 so my guess was that they wanted fuel economy. but that car was slow from the get go but when it hit after 45mph that thing was a pocket rocket. But why even bother with a 4 banger turbo thats like putting a honda engine in the camaro.

The six I think is gonna be a monster because its so close to the 50/50 weight distribution its not funny. The 6 will also offer more power.
It does look sweet, but my taste is not the big wheels. I would have gone with something a little bit smaller. Dont get me wrong the camaro looks great but just the wheels make it look kind of weird for my taste.
I'm pretty sure if when someone buys a camaro they are not buying it for the fuel economy anyways, like most people i have a daily driver thats a four banger ( Z24 Cavalier) thats gets awesome mpg compared to the camaro the only thing wrong with GM right now is that they want to price the Camaro *** much as a loaded charger (26,000), when they need to compete with the mustangs around 20,000. GM is stupid to try and play catch up with the imports they are american we do things our own way not copy everyone else.

Sad thing is ... everything is going to the big wheels now
making us spend more on tires. My camaro that i have now looks great with 17's in the back and 16's in the front but those wheels and tires seem to be getting harder and harder to find i can't even find a decent set that i like anymore
Hey guys. For starters I’ve always been a big car guy, I love all types of cars and can appreciate all types of engineering. I’ve always been a Chevy...
