Re: 4-banger turbo?
Is this really happening? On a forum where we say we love our Camaros because they are Camaros and it doesn't matter if it has a v6 or v8, people are dissing the idea of a Turbo I4??? Its still a Camaro! Its still gonna look cool, and quite honestly that 260hp 4 banger would kill at least 50% of the v6's on this board and get 28-32mpg to boot. I see no problem with a 260hp base option(maybe with AWD), and the 3.6l and whatever V8 they go with as performance options. More options means a broader sales market.
One other way to look at this... What if GM announced that they were going to release an E85 only engine in a Camaro? Would we shun that because Camaros are supposed to run on gasoline and have always been that way so it should continue like that 'til the end of time? I'd say not. Times are a changin' people, we just need to get use to it.
