I have a 2001 Camaro V6 with a 3.8. It has around 70,000 miles. Recently, I have some type of a ticking sound coming from around the alternator or that side of the engine. It is cold the last few days, and I think it became apparent since then. After the car warms up after driving, it goes away. Can anyone tell me what it could be?

Re: Ticking sound from passenger side?
Most obvious answer would be exhaust leak, if your unlucky possibly a ticking lifter but my first thought would be the exhaust leakDaily: '02 Black Yukon Denali

I would peek under the hood with it running in the dark sometime. If it is arcing it will be easy to see.

Re: Ticking sound from passenger side?
I forgot to mention something. I started getting the SES light when I had the catalyc converter cleaned out because it had plugged up. I started getting 2 codes. One's
B1001 - random cylinder misfire and P0420 - catalyst defficiency.
Is there a workaround this to make the oxygen sensor tell the computer that there is a catalyc converter? I thought I heard of something like this before.
