  • 2000 3.8L V6 Misfire issue

I have a 2000 camaro 3800 II v6 with 74000 miles. In january the car gave a misfire so i did new spark plugs, ignition wires, PCV, fuel filter, air filter. this made the misfire go away until march, when it came back some fuel system cleaner took it away until august. Now I have notbeen able to get rid of it. #2 cylinder misfires throughout the RPM range. #'s 2,4,6 misfire while in idle. #1,3,5 do no misfire. replaced O2 sensors, #2 fuel injector, ICM tested, Coilpacks tested, spark plugs again replaced. fuel pressures is at 44PSI in idle, ignition on engine off fuel pressure climbs to 45 the drops quickly. PCV o-ring has been misssing since JAN buts now replaced. Also recieved a P0175 bank2 too rich on several occasions and am now getting a sulfur smell so i seems the misfire has killed my catalytic. Please help someone

Have you replaced your EGR Valve? I know mine caused something similar to that when it went bad. I would go ahead and replace the coilpacks anyway. I have a 2002 and I already had one go bad and I am certain that yours arnt far from ready to die. Make sure the wires arn't touching the exhaust manifolds.

It sounds like you should have your fuel rails and fuel injectors checked as well, on both banks.

check the vac lines on the fuel pressure regulator to make sure fuel isnt getting in them. thats what happened with mine when i was getting misfires. i replaced the regulator and the misfires were fixed.

id replace the coils too cause mine were all technically sparking but then it would stop. One dayi hit a bump real hard and the car ran fine then the next day started to misfire again so id try it.
