I seemed to of broke that silver thing that screws in by the oil filter. Is that the pressure sensor ? I guess its needed so who has a spare ?

Tom, if it is the oil pressure sensor, you can get one at any auto parts store for about $20. Very common part.

Tom - the silver part is like an insulating cover that goes over the oil pressure sending unit (sensor). It just slides off of the sending unit and then you can unplug the sensor. From the picture it is hard to tell where it broke. Is part of it stuck in the oil filter housing?

it broke right at the gold nut. I will take a look tomo. I got the gold part unthreaded though.

that sensor is notorious for breaking.

Perfect, if you got the broken part out then you are all set. Easy fix, compared to the head gaskets that you just replaced. Once you look at it you will see how the sensor pops out of the silver covering.

Mine broke internally and was spraying oil out the back of it where the wiring plug is. Lost a quart of oil in about 5 minutes. Luckily I was paying attention and noticed the pressure gauge dropped. Never actually lost pressure, just a false reading because the oil was spraying out of the sensor.

yeah it's odd, one time my oil pressure sensor was gushing out where the threading is (make sure you have thread sealant on there!) but my psi stayed right at 60 and never went down. Luckily my low oil light came on and warned me.
