also, you need a corvette fuel filter for the fuel system. there are many other small quirky things you will need for the swap also if you want to do it correctly

Oh, and the_merv is the man. I would love to go down to Central Arkansas and try to hang with some of those guys. Pretty quick builds.
I went with FLP longtube headers and the SLP Loudmouth. I've heard this setup on a friend's 98 Camaro and loved it so that's why I went with it.

You are gonna get soooooo many opinions on what headers and catback to go with, get ready!!! And for some reason, LS1 people are very opinionated about exhaust setups. lol

        Re: 6.0 swap?

On a quick note, in most cases you can't use an LS car IAFM on an LQ4/LQ9 if you use the truck FEAD system. You'll need to get the accessory drive system for a car. If you look around, you can get an 2001-2004 LS1 intake manifold from an F-car or GTO. The LS6 intake became standard on all LS car engines in 2001 and later.

Otherwise, the Gen 3 Vortec engine components are pretty well interchangeable, aside from some internal components. As far as external bolt-ons go, anything that would fit an LS1 should fit the LQ4.

If you want to make some seriously nast power without breaking the bank, look into getting a set of fully assembled L92 heads (usually about $800-1500 depending on where you go), a cable throttle ready L76 car intake, a decent cam designed for those heads (you have to make sure it's for L92 heads, as they're somewhat quirky about how they react to lift and duration, especially exhaust), and a ported throttle body. A high flow MAF sensor would be a good idea, unless you intend to run in speed density mode.

And really, you can use a PCM from any Gen 3 Vortec powered vehicle that's equipped with a cable throttle. You can get a wiring harness from Painless, and if you want they'll sell you a new PCM as well.

I'm about half asleep, so I can't think of anything else off hand that would be of any help, but if you want to know more about anything related to the Gen 3 engine, just shoot me a message.
