My problems started yesterday when I got into my car and started it up. It took about 4 seconds of clicks for the car to actually start and idle. Didn't really think anything of it. Tonight I headed out and the car did the same thing. After 4 seconds I let the key go and then tried again. After 3 seconds the car started up. I made it to my destination but after that is where my problems started.
I went to start the car up and it was in idle mode but after 1 second it conked. I got it started back up but this time it had the "reduced engine power" light on. While the car was in neutral I pressed the gas and the only I got was the car shaking slightly and NOTHING.
I had my buddy with me so we popped the hood to see if anything was loose and nothing. I figure since I was less that 3 miles from home have him follow me and try to make it back. I put it into drive and was able to get to adequate speed to make it home, mind you without the gas pedal giving me sufficient power.
In my years of driving I have never heard nor seen anything like this at all. I recently installed a whisper lid so I figured this may have something to do with it but I still have the original piece that connects the sensor into the plug from the old intake installed and that did nothing.
I have to figure that this is being caused from something in the intake but I am stumped. Originally I thought it may be bad gas but that wouldn't lead to problems like this.
Please give me some advice because this just absolutely baffles me on what this problem could actually be.
