has any one tried out either one of the pistons yet? and maybe a dumb question but you think they woulde be a upgrade at all cause it doesnt say they are lighter or stronger really. thx http://www.summitracing.com/parts/STL-WH522CP/

I would say that neither of those would be an upgrade. If you're looking for added strength, forged pistons and rods would be the way to go. But unless you're looking to add a turbo, supercharger, or a good bit of nitrous, I would say use the money for something else.2000 3.8L Firebird, Silver Metallic<br /><br />\"Yes, London. you could upgrade by using the pistons to up the compression for a NA car...I dunno about those ones in the link though...

ok well i wasnt sure if we had pistons that were made of steel or sumthing thinking they would be lighter or sumthing idk switching to these alum. ones thanks for the info i know about the diamond forged pistons and was still going for these when i swap them but thought id see what you guys thought of the cheapys

the second link says 96.500mm bore are engines are 96.520mm stock so im nnot sure if it will seal? then again its 2 tenths of a millameter. Looks like is has a higher compression it has 1.090" compression distance and a .050" recess the other one is 1.855" comp dis and a .135" recess.
