valve seal leaking?

While trying to solve an issue for megasquirt I noticed there is a lot of smoke ( looks like it) coming from the passenger side valve cover vent. It is cool and smells like gasoline. Dose this sound like its a valve stem seal issue, a valve sealing issue or am i just freaking out over something that should normally happen?

i would first replace the PCV valve if it is more than 5000 miles old, i have gotten a few bad ones, but see if that fixes the problem before you go any further, they are like $2 at the parts store

I had a bad PCV Valve before, (only had the 3.4 for about 12,000 miles before it died) and after the engine warmed up and drove around for awhile it would start to make a screaming hiss-ish noise that would linger for a second or two after the engine completely stopped. PCV was toast and was causing pressure to build up inside the engine.

Test is supposedly shake it and if it rattles, it's good. But they are dirt cheap so you might as well just replace.

Assuming you have a 3.8 there is a small diamond shaped black metal plate on top of the UIM, two bolts hold the plate down and the PCV is inside there.

dont test it, replace it.

they say if it shakes and makes a rattle its good inside, mine rattled, but it was bad
