Does anyone know if zzp's cam reacts well without boost? Any one running it?

Re: NIC cam
it will work NA just fine, you just are not getting the most out of the cam if you are not using it like it was designed too.

Re: NIC cam
It is also very difficult to tune properly. You must have a lot of experience tuning 3800's in order to get a good tune out of it.
It sounds NASTY though. (In a good way) I would only use that cam for a Roots S/C application though.

Re: NIC cam
I still like my VS cam 206/216 115 LS( I call it stock cams bigger brother)LOL, has good N/A power , like the 8-10 PSI from the PD and it really loved nitrous and talking to the Garrett dealers about the GT35R they said it should do really well.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: NIC cam
meemperor- I know, but i dont want to do it on a stock motor. I know i wouldn have any problems with doing it on stock internals, but i would really like to put a cam in it before i start puttin the turbo on.
ssms- yea you did say it was pretty much an all around cam. I will probably go with the same one, did you put the double roller on it?

Re: NIC cam
No double roller yet, but when I first had it it had stock valvetrain except Intense lightweight pushrods which was a bad idea and Comp OER lifters which are loud(will switch to Comp OE ones when the new heads, intakes and double roller etc. go on) , which i didn't know. But after installing Comp 105LB springs ,ZZP modded retainers, Comp 5/16 pushrods the car felt 10 times better, 8 out of the Intense lightweight pushrods were warped or bent, this is after 4 years I think. I plan on running the VS cam with my GT35R turbo and see how it does , if it does well I will install another VS cam in the L26 engine I'm building with JE forged 9:9.1 pistons, and double roller, to see if they are better than the Diamond 9:5.1 forged pistons I have been running for over 7 years now. I plan on a 10:1 compression with 7-12 LBS of boost what ever i can get away with.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: NIC cam
Haha nice. 10:1 compression with 12lbs is going to put out retarted big numbers. I hear from everyone that the OER's are noisy as crap. I plan on goin with the double roller, zzp retainers, ls6 springs, and either the vs or gt cam. The motor is stock as it stands, and i want to see what it can do before the turbo.
