I am having trouble making up my mind on which cam I want to go with. My 96 Camaro is staying NA. It currently has a 97pcm, 4.10 gearing and a 5spd. I am stuck between 3 different cams. The Abbott cam is if the requirements for the other two get to expensive. Parts that I have that are going in during the swap include Pacesetter Coated headers and CAI.
Abbott ARH Naturally Aspirated cam
-210º/220º @ .050"
.512"/.515" lift
LSA 112º
Intense Stage 3
-222º/230º @ .050"
542"/.529" lift
LSA 110º
intake centerline: 106º
GT3
224º/224º at .050"
.536"/.536" lift
LSA 113
I know the bottom two choices it is recommended to shift around 7k. What is needed to be able to do that? I know new springs are a must and most likely pushrods as well. Also I have stock L36 heads right now. Also anyone with any experience with these cams chime in with some testimonials? Thanks.
edit: I kept my stock rockers in case I wanted to cam the car later. I know the 1.8s must come out.
