    So basically I'm making the post that the forum sticky say not to make :spank:. I've searched around and still can't make my decision on what to get for a cam. I'm running stock heads and will be doing a turbo build out this summer.

    Here are the cams I've found:

    ---
    ARH Turbo/Blower cam, -220/220 @ .050, -.320" lobe lift on the intake, .512" with a 1.6 rocker ratio, -.320" lobe lift on the intake, .512" with a 1.6 rocker ratio, -114 lobe separation

    INTENSE Turbocharged 3800 Stage 2 duration @ .050": 214º/206º, lobe lifts: .331"/.320", valve lifts with 1.60:1 rocker arms: .530"/.512", lobe separation angle: 116º, intake centerline: 110º

    Stattama Turbo #2, Duration @ .050" is 212°/212°, Lift is .520”/.520” with 1.6 rockers, Lobe separation is 113 degrees.

    Stattama Turbo #3, Duration @ .050" is 218°/212°, Lift is .528”/.520” with 1.6 rockers, Lobe separation is 114 degrees.

    I want to raise the rev limiter to maybe 6500rpm (if there is no float) and here are the supporting mods I'll be installing with my cam:

    ZZP Cam Install Kit, option #4 for L36.
    OE 850 Lifters
    JP Double Roller Timing Chain
    Machined Oil Pump Cover
    INTENSE 5/16" x .038" x 7.05" Oil Restricted Pushrods
    Crow Cams 130lb Springs, .600 max lift
    CompCams High Performance Valve Locks (24)
    Manley Performance Chrome Moly Valve Spring Retainers
    Valve Cover Breather (might as well order)

    This would be my vote. I wish someone would pick up cam analyzer software so we could project some #'s from custom grinds. I dont know how accurate it would be given all the different variables though.

      You said you were going to be running stock heads, Keep in mind that if your going to run stock rockers they have a ratio closer to 1.7 than 1.6. They are sctually 1.66 if i remember correctly. You may have to have your guides cut down to support that much lift as well as running the manley retainers you mentioned. Not sure if that will cause any problems for you but just thought i would toss that out there. As far as the cam goes i would deff agree with techsan. Just my opnion though. :wavey:

        I had stock heads stock lifters and stock rockers on my abbott cam with only upgraded springs. And she went and went. lol

          At what amount of lift would a setup like the one I described support? I've been doing more reading and it seems like stock rockers aren't very good with 130lb springs due to deflection. I'm going to look into some rockers too. Any recommendations? Should I get 1.6 ratio rockers or 1.7? Are 1.7 going to be a problem with stock guides?

            Im running the GT2 .317 lift intake and exhaust along with a yella terra 1.7 roller rocker. That ends up giving me a lift of .5389. My machinest ended up cutting my guides down just a bit to give the extra room needed for that much lift, as well as running comp retainers to matain the 1.8 spring install height. we also used the low profile viton valve seals. As for your question i would say that if you are not going to have your guides cut down you will most likley run in to some interferance running that combo with the 1.7's yaou may want to look into the 1.6's. I'll see if i can get the exact specs from my machinest. your best bet would be to have a shop test fit things and determine if your going to have problems. I'll see if i can get you some more info later.

              I have not run this cam before. I just lean towards a tighter lobe sep angle; your still getting a descent amount of lift, and it looks very streetable. It comes down to driving habits, how aggressive you want to go with your engine internals and where you want to make your power in the rpm band.
