  • Started my new fan shroud today

Got it in and just wired it up to make sure it worked. The fans sound like a mini jet engine when turning on , sounds pretty cool. They are rated at 1600 CFM each , I could feel the difference in airflow pulling in. My back staarted hurting way too much so I had to stop. Tomorrow I hope to just finish the wiring with some flex lume and move the lower water return hose over more and make a bracket to hold it and do the same with the wires to get them out of the way. It made about 4-5"s of more room , so the turbo piping/ DP will have more than enough room. The 32mm sway bar is not a factor of being in the way anymore, thank god. I was actually redesigning another one so it would run further up under the radiator support but it looks like I won't need to. So I will drop my car off this week after my Dr. appts on Tues at Peak Boost so they can get started on it, I think I will change my turbo pipping into a straight pipe now with no bends and a EGT sensor in it since I have the room now and the DP will go straight down with a flex pipe and wideband sensor then connect to the existing exhaust. Also will be doing my Line lock and proportioning valve. Also some misc. stuff like the methanol kit etc. So about a week or 2 I hope. What sucks is , its already hot out, so I'm only going to run like 7 PSI.

Me too. LOL Those fans really move some air, I wouldn't say double the stock fans but at least 1 1/2 times more air. I put some padding around the fan shroud for a good seal. I'm also putting 1 -10" fan on my 45,000 BTU tranny cooler blowing in and another 10" fan on my intercooler pulling air into the 12" fans and hope it helps cool the boost more also. I had these lying around so I decided might as well use them. Since my fog lights are gone I'm wiring them off my fog light switch so I have control over them just like my SLP fan switch.

thats a great idea putting a fan on the intercooler and using that switch is perfect.

Thanks, maybe the 25% brain loss isn't too bad. LOL I'm in AZ so the more air flow the better. Even 115+ degrees. I figure if its 115 degrees out my big @ss intercooler should be putting 140-150 degree temps in the TB which isn't bad, the Powerdyne I had was putting 220-240 degrees in the TB. I don't drive much so I think I might have the methanol come on at 1 PSI 10% and by the time it hits 7 PSI it will be at 100% flow. Thats why I love progressive kits, should cool it another 20-40 degrees.

I also ordered a crap load of heat wrap tape 2000 degree protection to do my wires and hoses. Once its all done I'll post some pics, I still can't believe how much space it created from the fans to the front sway bar. Will be alot easier now with the oval tubing.

What kind of fans did you buy? I am thinknig about fabbing a fan setup on the condensor of my truck because in Florida it gets really hot and the motor's fan doesn't pull enough off of the radiator and condensor to keep the truck cold when idling for a long time.

I don't remember the name , I would have to look it up , but they do have a lietime warranty on them. I was too sore today to finish the wiring up, so I hope late tomorrow to finish it up and snap some pics.

Lookin awesome! but it would look like it was designed to be there if it had fasteners and not zip ties. :P
