so you think i can hit in between 500 and 600 with that kit, cam, heads, and an intake?
if that kit alone is putting down 400, then yes...without a doubt....Assuming you tune properly, and do your research and match it with a nice cam, do some research on a head setup, and a nice custom intake manifold will serve you nice...
ya but they are not going to gurantee the work you did to it if you find out something is wrong with the block...they'll give you another block and you have to start at square 1 with the work again...
the cartuning kit is making some nice hp numbers...with that turbo kit only we have a local guy putting down 400rwhp with no other mods done (except fuel pump)
I would say that kit, along with a nice turbo cam, a nice set of heads, and a custom intake manifold...you'll be at your goal no problem.
hmm... This is new, spring 2010 http://www.cartuning.ca/products/pro...aro&engine=l36
The one for our cars, and only a thousand bucks. Hasn't been a kit made for our cars in awhile. Hmm... this could put my girlfriend's Z28 in the dust, haha.
Edit: Oh, I guess a thousand dollars is only the down payment thing, its actually $5,000. Dang.
Since you are taking your time with the build, I would like to offer a few suggestions.
1 - Regardless, if you are making any more than 250 hp then you will want that Z28 rear end with 3.42 gears and posi. that was one of the first mods I did.
2 - You will need a G-Force trans or a T-56 swap on a 500hp motor. Thats if you have a T-5, if its an A4, you should be good for now, but with 600hp you will probably blow that too.
3 - I would get subframe connectors if you have a hardtop otherwise you will see the paint cracking on the roof supports from all the torqueing.
These are just some things to keep in mind for now.
For youe engine build, do you bottom end right up front and the heads right as well as the cam selection up front, you will not regret it.

ya, its the kit in the second quote there, off of cartuning website. Yes it's $5000, but you do get EVERYTHING you need to install it, except you need a walboro 255 fuel pump...that is the only additional piece you need to buy, cartuning supplies you with everything else.
sounds like alot, but if you take into consideration what you are actually getting, and the quality...and even loook at other kits sold by zzp etc for 3-4g's that don't net you near that amout of power....I would say its a pretty decent deal. But to spend 5000$ in one shot is what's hard.

O ok I was thinking about getting a z28 rear end as well for the dif and rear disks but will it bolt right in (Other than modifying the brakes obviously)? Also I'm not positive which trans that I have but it is a 97 camaro rs with t-tops. And for building the engine any sugestion on parts? I would rather build everything to handle 700hp but only use maybe 600 that way it will be a bit more reliable.

It looks like a great deal. I've been trying to email them for the past couple of days to get more info on the kit but I can't get ahold of them
If my motor blew today and i was biulding it I would do this.
Motor:
Je pistons from ZZP (8.5:1 CR )
bearings (clevite 77 if you want but any good bearing will be fine)
Fresh hone on the block
polish crack (turn if needed)
new cam bearings
align bore
Heads
ZZP stage 4 or Abbot stage 3 with Manley or Comp-cams 150lb springs
Manley valves all around
Cam
Nice turbo cam - depends on your turbo set up for specs
dull roller timing chain
push rods
Comp cams 1.7 rockers
that's the motor.
Trans A4 built - buy a good builder that knows there not a local guy that just says " it will handle anything, there are maybe 3 people that i would trust and one of them built my trans. lol
can get trans break to
Stall TC - this is the hard part may be the last thing you do, I would get one for the S-10 for cheap then once you what you really need get a custom one.
T5 - don't bother
6 speed - once you get it to work will be fine.. very extensive install but if you want this is your only option. clutch to hold the power here
rear - if you biuld the 10 bolt right it should hold up for a good bit on the A4, with the 6 speed manual trans don't bother with the 10 bolt (or if you add a trans break to the auto.
if you stay with the 10, eaton rear with TA grill and bolt should be perfect.
HPT tuner for tuning or full stand alone
Turbo kit.
the Car tuning kit is okay but you have to remove your AC. Force fed fabs kit will cost about hte same and you keep the AC
don't forget about the Tubular K-member
thats the major stuff
still no shocks and all that
