    I don't think you've read it all from the beginning bro, I'm talking about buying stage 2 heads and I already have the prerequisite bolt ons so to speak, besides headers which are being done with the swap. I read somewhere, I think it was here but I forget, that the gt2 had the highes lift and best power besides the gt3 which zzp says should only be used for strokers. I'm not set on the gt2 but I thought that was the best option, so if there's an even better way do tell

      You need to look at the lobe separation(LSA). I don't think you get it either. Call abbott and talk to him personally. Everyone has said here that there are better options than the GT2.

            Also look at Intenses cams, there are some great Comp cams where people have put down great #'s the GT2 is one of them. Since you will have some better heads go with 130LB springs, then I would add a double roller(undo the balance shaft and leave it) also a milled cover plate, oil PSI kit(since your in a hot state and it will boost your oil PSI), Comp .105 pushrods or, COMP OE lifters(I have the OER's right now and they are a little noisey), MLS Gaskets with ARP head stud kit, RK Sport headers for more exhaust flow since they have the biggest primaries at 1.75"s,
            Depending on your heads if you have the extra lift maybe some shaft mounted roller rockers 1.7-1.8 Also P/P upper and lower intakes. Hptuners and wideband is a must. That should do it for the top end. Then move on to suspension and gears etc.

              No offense to the OP, but it sounds to me like you're asking for help without some basic knowledge. That's easy to fix though, just buy a book or two on how to build an engine. Even if it's a small block chevy, it will still teach you a lot about how to tear down an engine, what parts you can upgrade, how to be organized, what goes on at the machine shop, etc.

              I know you want to have a super fast v6 but without forced induction, there is no replacement for displacement. As long as you understand that you won't be disappointed.

              The stock fuel system will be fine. It can handle a set of better flowing heads, especially if you are going to get this tuned. Tuning will take you a while btw; only people that do this for a living are very experienced people, most of them having gone to some sort of schooling for it.

              You can mill the heads but if you do, be very careful in checking your ptv clearance. I would hate for you to f up your new aftermarket pistons because your machine shop milled your heads too far down. Keep in mind you may have to get flat top pistons fly cut to clear the valves.

              No idea on the springs. I'm sure whoever did the stage IIs for your engine can recommend some.

              Trust me man, do the time for researching on how to build an engine. I went from not knowing anything about engines to building my first LS1 and it runs great because I did it right and spent the money where I needed to. I know you're excited to gain all this information at once; don't be afraid to take your time and break up your learning into chunks. Read a lot and take lots of notes.

                milage dont have to much affect on these motors, they don't wash the walls with gas like the old carb motors do

                hes going to need pistons to up the CR anyway, to get his goals.

                you will need custom long tubes, I think FF may have some still, shorty will not cut it for NA power

                  Ok... this oil kit, who makes that? Is there any body who sells a milled front cover or am I gonna have to do that on my own? Maybe abbot does that? I thought there were a lot of issues with the rk sports? And I was also gonna ask about lifters, OEs are the best choice? And you're saying I should do either the lifters or the pushrods not both? I considered rockers as well, but would I not have clearance issues with the valve covers? Y'all tell me I can do it and I'll add that to the buld.

                          Yea do pushrods and lifters. Save yourself the time of bending a pushrod with the stockers. Also how far you mill the heads will decide on what size pushrod to use.

                            Heres my .02

                            I am running a turbo now, but before, I built the best NA setup my wallet would let me.

                            Step 1 - Intake, exhaust and rear end. You got that checked out. If you dont have posi, get it, ull need it.

                            Step 2 - Heads cam intake. I am the author of the cylinder head research done about 4 years ago and if I can remember Abbott was your best bet. Stage 2 would suit you fine. I ran custom P&Pd heads with the GT2 cam. It made power up to 6300ish. I had a single roller chain and stock springs and rockers. I just used felpro replacement gaskets. I also used a ported intake manifold. I swapped in hardened pushrods and used RK Sport headers and 24lb/hr. injectors. My stock pump died so I installed a walbro at this time too. Subframe connectors were a must for me. I went to Texas Speed for a mail order tune (worthless). With this setup I ran a 14.2 NA. That was my best and my motor had 125k miles on it. It also cost me about 3.5k to do everything up unto this point.

                            Keep in mind that there are several supporting factors that need to be addressed when improving performance. Youy cant just slap on some heads and expect to go faster.

                            Step 3 - If you want to go a step further then you need to up the compression. This takes you into a different ball game. Listen to what turbov6camaro has to say, hes one of the best when it comes to this stuff. With higher compression and air flow and a bigger cam than a GT2 and 4.10s you can get your motor down to a 13 second quarter mile, but you are looking at more money, a lot more to get there.

                              **** guys, im sorry to say this but I recently wrecked my car. sadly its ruined this time so Im afraid this project isnt gonna happen. I appreciate all of yalls help and input though. That money just went to v8. See ya around fellas
