that was umm 2007 i think. tons of 3800 motor have issues with spring over 130#

ITS NOT A FEW isolated cases, like said check out club GTP both intense and ZZP recommend the manley valves for 130# spring s

          Re: Si Valves

zzp does not even sell manley valves. and intense doesnt sell them in stock sizes both in the actual valve head and stem size. and 180 dollars for a set of six? that retarded. no valve is worth 30 dollars a piece

Are the issues with the SI valves all with 130# springs?

I have the SI valves in my engine now that's ready to be dropped in... I'm running 105# springs, though...

I would still be leary with 105's. I just ruled them out because when I talked to ZZP they said they'd rather run the stockers than the SI's.

                    Re: Si Valves

we ran 130# springs on stock valves and timing chain for two years with sever abuse at the track. both of those are not advised against according to zzp. if zzp would rather run stock vavles then stainless valves then why sell them? why would abbott put them in his heads? his best heads come with 130# springs and si valves...

its nothing to argue over...we have them and i'm not going to buy a new set of stock valves for it and think they are going to be better then si's.. and i'm not paying almost 400 dollars for 12 valves plus extra headwork. its just weird that only the 3.8 guys have problems with them and nobody else does..chevy, ford, honda's...all run em without problems.

abbott even told me that would be fine, but seeing all the post i had him order the manlyes with the 1.84 and 1.55 size

should be noted at least 2 sets of abbot stage 3 head have failed due to the valve ejecting its head, and one was on an NA setup

                        Re: Si Valves

I do understand where your going about the valves but Zoomer has repeatedly told people they don't care for the SI's as much. Abbott said he has never had problems with the SI valves. I don't want the risk and am only going to run 105 springs. I will just save my money and run the stockers.

Well I'll be running SI valves on 105# springs... if anything breaks you all will be the first to know lol... sounds like I shouldn't have any problems, and iirc (it's been two years since I ordered my parts) zzp was who steered me toward the SI valves... but I can't be sure
