  • Got my Manely Valves yesterday!!

These valves look stout, can't wait to take my heads down to the machine shop to have the valve job done and brass guides and have the guides milled down for a .600 lift. Decided not to go with the Intense stage 3 heads since I called the machine shop and will have everything done for less than $300, since they have been milled already, bead blasted and had a stock 3 angle valve job done last time for the stock size SI Valves and they will touch up my port/polish job I have done if need be. last time they said my P/P looked great, but that was with stock size valves. So my total with labor for the heads and parts will be $360 valves about $550 labor and since I got a set of free Comp 130LB springs, $100 in other parts, so about $1000 total. Not bad, if added 130lb springs $1150, for 1.90 /1.57 Manely Servere Duty II series valves. the machine shop was going to charge me $30-$40 for a Manely Valve so I think it was a great buy from Intense and they're stock .3136 size. I compared the Manely's to the SI Valves and theres no comparison, Manely or just stay with stock. I'll take some pics when their done, I have pics with the SI valves installed in my heads on my Cardomain page , so once done I'll put both pics side by side.

So I'm dropping my heads and valves off tomorrow is going to be about $300 for the valve job , guides milled, bronze valve guides and extra porting for the bigger valves. When done since I can't get ahold of the person who was suppose to help me install my engine stuff backed out even though they got alot of nitrous parts and misc. I'm having a mechanic friend that charges not to much. but this is what is going in:
P/P heads with 1.90/1.57 Manely Servere Duty II valves,.600 lift, Comp 130LB springs ZZP modded retainers , Comp locks, Bronze valve guides, Viton guide seals
.065 MLS gaskets with ARP head studs, JP double chain with machined oil pump cover
Oil PSI kit , 1.7 Comp Pro mag roller rockers, W/ comp reusable rocker arm bolts, Comp .105 pushrods, P/P intakes with alm. lower alm. gaskets, Comp OE lifters. I think that is it besides what is already installed and done I think the bill for him will be around $300 for labor since I have all the parts and gaskets. Then I can have the guy from Peak boost install my turbo kit. I'll feel safer having the heads done with running the turbo in the heat. Also my methanol kit will be up and running I have ran the lines and just need to tap the TB behind the blade. Damm its been a year and a half since I started buying parts for the engine and spare engine and turbo stuff. So about a week for the heads , another week to 2 for the engine and about a weekend for the turbo install. So I hope to have everything done if on schedule mid July or the end of it, the hottest time of year for AZ great. I'll just post my updates in this thread on the car.

Re: Got my Manely Valves yesterday!!

Dropped off my heads this week , should be done next week , owner said he would do the extra bowl porting and polishing for free, so that made me happy. He will also install everything back together for me for free so I don't have to bruse me hands using the damm spring compressor. he said it would be about $300 total , but I might see how much it will be for him to flow test them when hes done, just to get a # on them. Then its off to my mechanic for some goodies to be installed on the car.:burn: Also the cars been running alot cooler drove 2 hours yesterday in 110 degree heat and averaged 210 degrees driving at 80 MPH(limit is 75MPH), peaked at 215 degrees when I got on it and was at 120 MPH on a nice 4 lane freeway, I couldnt believe it gained 40 MPH in about a few seconds, its nice having 3.73's.LOL Will post oics once I get the heads back next week I hope.

Heads are done, will pick them up tomorrow , total $350 , not bad since they ported and polished everything to blend together. I forgot to ask him if he could flow test the intake/exhaust side, but I'll see if they can do it tomorrow if they have time.

Re: Got my Manely Valves yesterday!!

I didn't have them flow tested, They don't do that there they send them out and I just wanted to get them and go after looking them over , they look great. They spent 3 hours porting the bowls to get each one the same , and since I ported them before about 12 hours total on the heads I think they'll be fine, lift is well over .600 , and was milled alittle more so total .015 milled, but he said the CC's were in spec. And the assembly went well with the broze guides. Nice not to have to have smaller .310 size valves and have the .3136 valves. Only problem was they messed up my paint.LOL So I need to repaint the heads. I think I will have them installed with my other stuff this next week. With .065 MLS gaskets I think I'll have plenty of room and the 1.7 Comp Pro Mags will put my lifts about .550 with my cam , so they should flow some air with the 1.75" primaries. I think I'm going to grind down the inside of the heads where the oil goes through to make sure theres enough flow. Thats one thing I forgot to do , but the Tom Henry project I saw them doing theirs so I think I will do mine.
