350 sbc swap

  • 350 sbc swap

    if i swap my 3.4 wich bolts to the 4l60e tranny as all of you know, with a small block 350 4 bolt, and put a carb on it do i need a wiring harness and computer or not. will this idea become a big money pit?

    You would keep the computer and delete the engine sensors running a distributor, ignition coil and ignition box. IMO unless your confident you can do most of the work yourself I would stick to a more common swap to avoid some of the unforeseen costs. k-member and engine mounts would be one of the first issues.

      The 4L60E behind the 3.4 will not work with the 350.

        it is cheaper to swap in a sbc than it is an ls1 if you are buying new parts, and no donor car.

        there are a few places that make everything you need. it will cost about $1500 minus the engine/trans

          You could go with a Speartech wiring harness if worried about doing the wiring.
