3.8 cam

Hi, I know that there are many cams, but what are the better, streetable cams? the only one I commonly hear talked about is the abbot N/A cam.

I daily drive the car, so it can't be anything to extreme. I have stock heads, and when I install a cam, I will put in the stock rockers instead of my zzp ones.

I need help deciding, and would rather have advice from those who have cams rather than calling the companies who will push to their cams.

With the exception of the aggressive cams most seem pretty streetable. Are you going to be running N/A, N2O, FI? Also to give you a piece of advice I'm sure you've already heard: Get a beater car or a nice second car (if you can afford a nice car). Unless you can afford to do everything you ever want to do to that car all at once. I've found you can't make a project out of your daily driver. You keep driving it and it keeps needing more and more maintenance. I just drive my camaro on weekends and such. No grocery, errand, office, etc.. runs. No sitting in traffic, no roads with pot holes, etc.. Just nice to know I'm gradually building it up, not gradually destroying it.

It will be N/A.

I cannot afford a beater right now, as i am going through college, but I will put in the cam itself during class (auto tech class). The cam will be the last performance mod, unless I get a GREAT deal on a n2o kit, or heads, so the 'project' will be done after this.

I've got a ZZP GT1 and it's a very streetable. You don't feel much of a difference compared to the stock cam. But looking back, I would've better bought a GT2 or something comparable.
My main concern was to get a cam that passes the sniffer test over here. That was the main reason I bought the GT1. But my car failed anyway... :mad:
Never thought that a small cam makes such a difference! But some gallons of E85 helped passing the sniffer test... :D

Conclusion: something of the size of a GT2 is quite streetable and if you have problems passing a sniffer test (if you actually have to), put some E85 in the tank.
