If you go cheap then you might be replacing or rebuilding it often, theres some clone GT35's out there for around $500 but don't know how long they'll last.
08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

well i've got everything else, so i'm not going to ebay the turbo and get gears.thanx for the suggestion though! i paid 75 for it i'm sure i could get that back out of it. any good/cheaper turbo's i should look at? as far as a power goal... 300+
i'm looking at a grand national t-type turbo off a 1987... any i've read that they would work well, and obviously they are made for same displacement. it looks kind of small, just looking for some more feedback.(i realize this isn't the FI section but the same topic seemed to change)

A stock GN turbo is old and dated technology. You could get a newer, bigger turbo and it would be more reliable and spool faster. The fin technology and over turbo R&D is miles beyond what was factory in 87.
You should do some more reading on general turbo knowledge before choosing something for your car.
The newer ones are much more effiencent and will last longer between rebuilds. If you plan on keeping it on there permanatly then go with a Garrett or Precsion turbos. For mine I chose a GT35R with a .63 A/R which is good for 6000 RPMS and which is watercooled with ceramic bearings, for the high heat of AZ. Its smaller than a T70 and weighs about half its weight.

What he said, I would add turbonetics and Borg Warner to that list as well.
A turbo build isn't something to take light heartedly. Lots of research and knowing your every detail about your car is key. Unless you by a bolt on kit. In which case you just bolt it on and drive
Garrett has a good learning section on turbos, 1-3 will tell you all about how it works and what does what, good learning tool for new people to turbos.
Meemperor do you have pics of your system, I wouldn't mind a setup like that except I have to keep my A/C ,since its a DD and I live in AZ(hot as hell)LOL

Car is in storage :( I just bought a condo so I really don't have time/space for it :(
The thing about the AC was, that it was the only place they could keep everything above the K member and still be efficient AND not have to cut anything up. You know what... I'll check my old phone I think there are some pics on it's SD card!
I was never one for AC, don't even have it in my DD and it was HOT here this summer. The chicken gets driven at night mostly too ;)
