My 99 Camaro 3.8L blew the rear main, lost all the oil and spun a bearing while I was 150 miles from home, so I'm having the motor professionally rebuilt at a local shop, it has 115K miles on it. My question is what external parts should I replace (as a preventatitive measure) even though they seem to be working fine. I'm thinking that I should replace the O2 sensors, knock sensors, water pump, all coolant lines, clutch, power steering pump..... not shure what else. I just don't want to go through all this effort and end up having to replace something that is really hard to get at a month from now.
This is my daily driver and I'm planning on keeping it pretty much stock with the exception of a dual cat back exhaust, I just recently put in a new catalytic converter. Any advice on what typically fails after 100K would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
