Sounds good , I know shipping them is expensive so making at leat $30 is good , I have 2 sets of the FWD's I was going to go with a FFH setup but I think its too hot to have them in the engine bay in AZ , so reason why the under K setup. I'll get a pic tomorrow since I'll be doing some poishing and work on some of my bolt carriers on some semi-auto rifles .308 / SKS and some handguns.LOL I like fixing guns on the side also, went shooting last Sunday and they had a feed problem. Was kinda funny I had about 5-6 guns with me and some guys shooting and guys who worked there thought I was a sniper becuase of the rifles and scopes , well also .308 armor piercing rounds too which(I had forgot I left them in the bag) which I couldn't shoot since it would go through their back wall. LOL Just because they have a Bipod, laser sight and a day/night auto ranging scopes they think the worst. Haha. I use to shoot a bit in my younger days.

^Meh, my FFH's didnt cause all that much heat with 12lbs of boost. I had the cross-over, pipe and the down pipe wrapped to retain the some of the heat and really my engine bay temp wasnt that hot. And where I live in Fl we get 105* temps on a regular basis during the summer, but the car ran fine.

^Meh, my FFH's didnt cause all that much heat with 12lbs of boost. I had the cross-over, pipe and the down pipe wrapped to retain the some of the heat and really my engine bay temp wasnt that hot. And where I live in Fl we get 105* temps on a regular basis during the summer, but the car ran fine.

Only 105, thats what it is at night in AZ. LOL Plus doing a under K with oval piping with a TUb. K is way easy to do and the pipes are about as high as the oil pan or about 1/2" higher than the oil pan. I paln on wraping all of it plus all the pipping has 2000 degree heat coating on them. I'm waiting fo my new heads to go in with the Manely Servere Duty valves to go in with some new parts, so I can run the boost at 18 PSI with methanol.

Thanks Steve, it actually looks lobsided in that picture as well...plus I managed to get the front cover off tonight, and everything looks ok.

Alright...finally got the cam out tonight...My machinist is on vacation until either tommorrow or possibly wednesday.

Heres the scoop...the cam as far as I can see looks fine as far as the lobes and all that stuff goes...there arent any scratches on it, if you run your fingernails on it you dont catch anything. BUT, the only thing that got damaged is that shaft piece that the timing chain sits on...apparently there is like a keyway that fits into a slot, and that tore a nice gash on that surface.

I'm not sure how crucial this is, since the only thing that sits on it is the timing chain...my buddy who does tool and die seems to think that it would be fine to reweld a piece on there so long as you kept that keyway slot exactly in the same spot (otherwise you'll change the timing)

Eeehhhhhhhh, IDK man, thats a pretty gnarly gash. That surface has to be perfectly smooth, and I think you would have a hell of a time getting it all filled in, the key in the right spot, and smoothed out perfectly. I mean, Im not a machinist, but that just does not look good at all. lol

no, its definetly not good lol...but that keyway slot makes it look worse than what it is...but its definetly not good at all lol...

Having worked nights and sweating for over 10 years, it over a 100 degrees at midnight in the summer time.

That cam is gone , use it for a paper weight or throw it away, Damm.

that cam looks like it could be fixed, but i wouldnt waste time with it.

i also would not suggest welding in a key for it, they are meant to fit snug in there, but i dont like the idea of welding it

bah, this sucks lol...I'll let you guys know what the shop says....the rest of the cam looks perfect...sucks that such a stupid piece could scrap this whole thing.

I wonder why it slipped the keyway; did you find the missing piece in the timing cover? If not maybe its in the oil pan? This is a good opportunity to create your own custom reverse split duration thumper cam :naughty: You'd have to find somebody to play with the numbers in a cam analyzer, but maybe something in the neighborhood of 22*intake /21* exhaust .55* lift 56* exhaust on a 111 lsa on maybe comp's XE-R lobes. Just something to get you thinking.

its amazing how differently people with a different type of engine can talk cam terms completely differently.

nothing wrong with it, im just commenting.. assuming you are talking about a dual pattern cam with 220/210 duration @.050 and .555/.560" lift.

although a cam with a 111 lsa and a short exhaust duration wont idle as radical as the opposite

I just didnt want to get too specific since I was pulling these #'s out of my butt. I saw it in my head as a 220/214 duration @ .050 though. Probably because Ive been really interested in the TR230 cam for the LS1 even though it wouldnt work for my setup.

lol...well I picked up a new cam from travis already, I was just intending to sell this one to recouperate the costs...but I dont want to sell anyone a dud either.

I dunno if Travis appreciates me giving the specs out on this cam...but screw it :P lol

New cam thats going in is essentially the same as the ARH cam, just on "steroids" as he put it.

230/240 .512/.512 gross lift on a 113 LSA

I have thought about adding 1.8 roller rockers to the mix to get a total lift of .576...but that will wait for now...I want to see how it runs as is.

I will be trying to advance the cam 2-4*

i also own a merc tracer, and on the ford forums, everyone calls the idle air the IACV (idle air control valve), but here it is just the IAC
