First thing that comes to my mind is the cam sensor and the magnet in the timing chain. As long as you put the magnet back in the gear you should be good there, but maybe you have a bad cam sensor?

        SHES RUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....

turns out it was I pinched the crank sensor wiring harness behind the power steering pump and it just mangled the wires...spliced her all up and shes all good to go...sounds mean...but I barely have the headers on, so shes crackling and popping. I'm getting some knock so I reduced the timing by 6 degrees...got most of it.

im assuming she is running pig rich cause she wreaks and is reading like 13-14 afr with one bolt holding each header in.

I need a new coolant elbow...I reused my old one cause I didnt get another, and the SOB leaks.

interestingly enough, she sounds like she is misfiring, but there is no code for a misfire...my brake pedal feels stiff as hell...I really dont have the greatest brakes except on decel and it I rev her up a little...Im getting a new check valve to see if that helps any, but the mechanic said it might just be a side effect of the big cam

car shakes like crazy which is awesome...sounds mean (despite the uglyness of backfires etc)

few more issues to work out, but Im pretty happy right now...

That's awesome. Can't wait to see what you can do with that engine.

I'm gonna have to be there the next time you go to the track to videotape your next best time. 13.24??? or maybe 12.97??? I can't wait to pick up those rods so I can hear her run:bowdown:

hahaha...I'm hoping for 12's with this setup with the ultimate goal to be pushing 11's N/A at some point maybe in the next 1-2 years...Shes going into the exhaust shop early tommorrow to get some things sealed up, she sounds bad with all the backfires.

How are you guys effectively sealing up the EGR on the headers? ( just deleted that entire mechanism, and my temporary fixed rtv'd quarter just blew off)

I'm also getting loads of knock at cruise (like 1400rpm) as much as 8-13*s...shes running rich as hell to, I've backed off the timing to about 20*'s and the cars reduced timing to 7*'s and it is still getting knock...but its sporadic, but not spikes sporadic...like it will come and you will get a nice frame full of it, and then it will go away, and then come back kinda thing. I'm wondering if the backfires from the exhaust could cause that? she's running on 110 mixed with 94 octane right now (110 is a half jerry can full, I put it in cause it was all I had, and I didnt have enough to make it to the gas station) She Absolutly wreaks right now

what might cause the car to sound/act like it is misfiring under load? no misfire code, and no flashing light?

I have the stock cranksensor back on the car...do you guys think I might still need a case learn? think that might solve the issue? Ive gone over the wires multiple times, they're on tight and in the correct order...plugs are new as of a few months ago... never misfired before the engine blew...

Are you driving this thing with out the headers being sealed to the head?

I was...apparently the bottom of the header was touching the ARP head bolts this time and it wasnt allowing it to sit nicely (which is why we spent over 2 hours trying to get bolts in and couldnt)...had the flanges licked and it sits perfect now...all bolted up....still misfiring or running horrible though...

is the magnet on the timing sprocket facing the right way? I had that flipped around when I was first starting my engine, the car didn't like that too much. lol.

Good to hear shes up and running , I would do a case learn since you went with a bigger cam to be safe, and sinc the motor was apart, I think thats where your KR is coming from , also use the resistor setup if need be , it works great. Good luck

Wow...so on the way to the USA all of a sudden I get a bad vibration and then booom CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK .... I got a loud loud knock. But it's a slightly different sound from when I blew the motor....it sounds almost as if someone is hitting motor with a hammer, or like a really bad ticking from an exhaust leak, except 20 times louder and moves with the revs.

Skimpish, I swear to god I have dejavu with what just happened to you...I honestly hope its the same problem for both, and I am hoping it is possibly torque converter bolts backing out, as I didn't get the 3 new ones (I didn't know they were TTY) and that's the only thing I think we both had incommon and looks like the same symptoms now.

The car all of a sudden got a vibration on the highway then startes knocking...I was cruising at about 80mph

Anyone have any thoughts? Advice? Experience...I'm on the side of the road waiting for tow...so
