    Re: D1SC-3800-Build:Ground Up

I was looking at the Abbot Racing Heads site and all three of their heads have 130# springs. I don't know at what point a cam would require springs of that strength, maybe 105# or at least something less than 130# would be OK with a cam that is not quite at the 210/220, .512/.512, 112LSA they discuss on the site. or is a cam like that even OK at 105#, and the 130# is just overkill?

Just depends on lift and if you have valve float , or if adding a power adder like a turbo which will be putting more stress on the valvetrain. My PD had valve float for years at 5700 RPMS but never replaced anything, after I replaced the stock springs to Comp 105lbers, ZZP modded retainers and Comp 5/16th pushrods, even stock it seemed like a boost in performance. Now I shift at 6000 RPMS and with my cam it works very well.

          links? www.3800stroked.com

sources.I don't know of anybody to successfully run it here stateside, it is from COME racing in Australia. Tim King might have had it working in his Firebird though.

whats the advantage? more CID, more torque delivered

could i still boost it? Yes, there is a low compression setup.

how much. $2500-3500 + machine work of block + custom base circle cam

is it streetable? More torque delivered equals better streetability, less peaky power.
