A4 4L60E Build (400 to 600hp) d1sc Procharged 3800

This thread is to primaraly focus on the driveline for my car, as you may or may not know, my car is being built. Using i dsc1 procharger I hope to yeild 400-500 hp and maybe even more. I need to have a transmission that will be up to the task of holding that much horsepower daily.
Let the suggestions begin. I also will have a list of what it going in and will update accordingly. Again, please no negative slurs nor any insults. I was pure quality responses. I also do not mind corrective critisizm. Thanks to everyone taking the time to help me out on this build. This car is sure to be something :drool:magazine worthy.

Talk to Performabuilt about getting a built 4L60E and stall to go with your build. It'll be a lot easier and less costly in the end. A lot better than piecing together a grocery list for parts.

Im running a Edge Racing Converters 3400 stall on the street and it works good. My 4L60E has all TCI internals, make sure you get a good trans cooler, heat is the main killer of autos. Good luck on the build.

I would just as soon build it myself. with parts. vs pay someone to do it.
i can do transmissions....not lower end motors lol

I know that 4l60e are almost bullet proof, but not sure what the limit is. I know that Andrew (Viper) is running 553rwhp on this tranny. He swapped his M5 for this. He would be a good person to talk too.

I run the level one performabuilt with an Edge 3000 stall converter.
I highly recommend the performabuilt tranny it even comes with the trans cooler. The level one is good for 500 rwhp which should be fine for your application. Check the prices at their website I believe it's around $1500
and they even offer a lay away program. The Edge converter is also a good quaility converter. I've been through (2) stock converters and (1) Hughes converter and the Edge is still going strong after many years of street and track use.
