Well in the last week I have been noticing some issues with my car feeling like it has been running lean and knocking. First thought was it was megasquirt even though I have been tuning it with higher and higher values on my VE table. Threw it back on the stock comp and its doing the same just not as bad. Tested teh fuel pressure and with the ign on its at 39psi. once I start it up it drops to 34 ish and giving it some throttle drops to 30-32. The plan is to check for holes in the lines tomorrow and replace the filter but if that dose not fix it is there anything else to check before pulling the pump. Also if it comes down to it what is a good pump to use to support power adders like cams and FI so I can grab that when this pump dies.

Re: fuel pump may be going
Sounds like your pump or the hose line is not all the way on ,giving you the low pressure. I run a Walbro 255 High flow pump, same price as the reg. Walbro but in higher PSI's it holds the pressure more than the reg. pump. Their designed for FI apps. Re: fuel pump may be going
I got mine on ebay along time ago, about 9 years, and then bought another one a year later becuase I thought mine went out , but it was just the hose clamp came loose and was sitting and spraying into the other end of the hose giving me 30 PSI on my gauge. So I have had a extra Walbro 255 high flow sittin in a box as a back up for 8 years.LOL But beware of some of the Walbros on ebay , I had heard of some fakes being made , I think I paid back then $99 plus $10 shipping, so $109 or something. What year vehicle do you have ? I just looked up the part # and went by that to order but saw the high flow and reead up on it and saw it was better for FI and I had my PD at the time. Its like GS304? or ?????? I don't remember. LOL Sorry, I might have posted back in 2001-2003 on my fuel pump and posted the walbro model # , so a search on here could find it.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: fuel pump may be going
ok I know the thread is kinda dead but I finally got around to trying something. I did the "free mod" of placing a washer inside the regulator and the pressure is up to 48pi start and after start is drops to about 44 at idle. Car feels better and I don't smell the odor of unburnt fuel around the tail after I shut her down.
