I was looking into buying Abbott intake manifold, and i was wondering if anyone on here has it and if it is worth the money? I am building a new engine from the block up and i could realy use some input and information about what i should use to build a strong engine. I was looking into Abbott stage 2 heads, Abbott intake manifold, ARP head studs, LS7 lifters, and im still looking into a cam. Will stock pistons work for an engine with all these itams or would i need forged pistons. Thanks for the input.

Re: Abbott intake manifold
if you have the money shoot for a holden intake manifold setup from australia and have it port and polished.
you won't need forged staying N/A, our pistons are fine...

Re: Abbott intake manifold
abbott manifold is just a stocker that is ported/polished, not a separate brand new intake. Just want to make sure you were aware of that as your post sounded like you thought it was totally different. :)
The holden intake is not a direct bolt on, FYI. It takes some work to get it to fit but will help with low end torque.
The stocker ported is just fine though for a normal build, if you are looking to build an all out engine then look at a custom sheetmetal intake or the holden

Re: Abbott intake manifold
Yeah i understand that abbott is a stocker thats p&p i was just wondering how good abbotts porting skill were, or if i should look to get them from somewere else. The car is going to be a daily driver but i want to build a strong quick engine for the street.

Re: Abbott intake manifold
they do good work on heads and intakes. Or I would also recommend 60* inclusive which is a sponsor over on fullthrottlev6.com

Re: Abbott intake manifold
I second the motion on 60*Inclusive. Go look through my build thread and you'll see.
He can also spec you a cam to match the heads after he does the work, flowbenches them as well to give you before and after #'s.
