I have looked thru about 200 pages under advanced engine and have had no luck. I am starting a rebuild and i have never removed an engine from the bottom of a car and i was wanting to get a thread that has a write up on how to remove the engine from the bottom. So if anyone has a link to a thread on that, it would be very helpfull. Or if anyone has any advice for me on how to take it out the bottom.

Re: Any thread on removing an engine from the bottom?
As far as I know I couldn't really find threads but this is how I did it:
- unhook the engine harness from the forward harness.
- unhook the engine harness from the inside of the car and pull it through to the engine bay (behind rocker panel in passenger side 3 connections 1 black, 1 blue, 1 white)
- remove pcm
- unhook the air box
- undo the wheel speed sensors plugs
- take off the starter wire
- unhook the grounds straps
- unhook the front brake lines
- drain the radiator
- unhook the random vacuum hoses (brake booster and engine harness)
- remove radiator hoses
- unhook the ps reservoir and drain it.
- if you have a trolley or something put under the crossmember
- unhook the trans cooler lines (auto) drain the fluid
- unhook the shift linkage (auto)
- remove the driveshaft
- pull out the torque arm (these 2 should just fall out when you drop the trans crossmember, you'll lose some trans fluid out of the extension housing seal.
- we lowered the trans first on a trolley, undo the 4 bolts on the trans crossmember (15 mm)
- undo the strut towers 2 15mm bolts on each side, then 2 more bolts on the passenger side (15mm),
- unhook the master cylinder, 2 bolts I believe
- remove the 2 torx bits under the master cylinder (t47 but a t45 will work)
- towers should just fall out
- under the car there are 6 bolts for the subframe, 3 on each side, unbolt them and raise the body off the subframe. Ill get the sizes soon.
Easy stuff but time consuming
Ps: I probably missed some stuff I'm eating me some dinner so I did this in a hurry. :)Last edited by 96blackmaro; 12-13-2010, 10:05 AM.
