    Re: motor swap progress

I only ran it for a few minutes, because the garage filled up with exaust fumes (the front wheels were still off). The smoke is white.

Good chance that's just stuff burning out of the exhaust.

What engine did you end up putting in there anyways? Did you pull the heads?

That's what I'm hoping, I doubt I'm that lucky though. As far as I know its an l26 out of an 06 Buick Lucern. Yeah, I had to pull the heads because there isn't enough room in the garage to lift the car high enough to pull the motor out assembled.

At least you got a L26 with the better engine parts , the heads will flow more too on the exhaust side anyways.

              Re: motor swap progress

Well I took her out last night, she dosnt smoke anymore which is good. I didn't need to bleed the brakes either, when I tried they had no air in the lines at all. I don't understand why though because I had to pull the lines off the abs unit. For a few minutes the car idled real high at 3000 rpms, but smoothed out. Every once in a while it misfires, so I think I'm going to get new plug wires this weekend. The abs inop light is on now, do you guys think I should try bleeding the brakes again?

Do you get someone to pump the brakes for you or something while you do it?

                  Re: motor swap progress

Yeah I had my roommate pump the brakes for me while I cracked the bleeder valve. I just drove the car down the road a few minutes ago, and the abs light went off. I think it came on last night because it snowed.
