Alright, so on a cold start, my engine makes a reallllyyy loud whine for about half a second while the oil pressure builds up.. It used to whine all the time, put in an oil additive, and not it's only on starts... I know for a fact it's not the power steerring pump (even though that's what everyone told me), water pump, or alternator since I have replaced those... It's only for the breif time oil pressure builds. After it builds, pressure sits at about 65-70 steadily and maybe 72 under WOT.
Are you sure it's not the belt squealing? It usually seems like engines make knocking or ticking noises from low oil pressure. A lot of times belts squeal on startup because they are slipping, either from wear or a loose tensioner.
pull the belt off and start the car up...if the noise isnt there than you know it is belt and or pump related...if it is still there, then we can narrow it down some...

And I'll try to get a video of it tomorrow some time...
Been down this road before, seemed like it was from the oil pump. When i tore the motor down before bringing it to my machinest i could'nt find anything wrong. In the end it was just annoying.
So basically ignore it? I mean it used to be worse. For the first like 6 months I had the car it was a constant sound. But added a LucasOil additive and now it's half a second at startup.. Hoping it'll just go away?
