Has anyone swapped a vortec 5300 from a silverado into a camaro? If not, is it possible without doing more work than it would take for an ls1?

People do it quite often, same amount of work, cheaper engine to buy however.

Thank you. I just havent seen any threads about it or heard anyone talk about it, so I didnt know for sure. A lot cheaper engine and close to the same numbers as an ls1.

so basically all i need is the 5.3 block with everything else ls1(ie. fuel system, intake, pcm, and everything like that? and technically could bore it out to ls1 specs. All this for almost half the price.

They are only rated about 20 HP lower than the early LS1's.
