how do the pistons connect to the rods in these cars...is it a press fit?

I believe the pistons connect to the rods that they slip in fit type or need to be pressed in. Taking a guess because mine were mesed up and had to be sent back and machined to fit.

how would I put them together then/what would I need?...is it necessary to have to take to a machine shop?

lastly, how might I be able to tell if I had a rod damaged/bent...would it be very noticable? or again, would it be something I would need to take to the machine shop and have put on a machine to find out?

if you suspect its bent, take it to a machine shop.

Thats right , I remember now , mine were not machined right and had to overnight them out back to intense to get them machined to fit in the piston( these were new Diamond 9:5.1 pistons too which pissed me off from Intense Racing in 02' ), but they made it up to me so I'm not pissed at them anymore,LOL , they were suppose to float in there with the rings making them fit side to side. My memory is for sh!t these days. LOL I'm glad someone posted up with the correct info.
